NYJ/JAX U1 HALF U19.5 (WIN)
In an ugly, frigid game, this one was probably our shakiest win of the week. With 28 seconds left in the half, the Jaguars missed a 44 yard field goal that would have give us the push. Luckily, Zach Wilson was as bad as advertised. The only 3 points the Jets could muster was off a recovered field goal where the Jets couldn’t even gain a first down. The Jets look awful right now and the Jaguars look poised to make a playoff push.
NYG 1st HALF +3.5 (WIN)
The Giants covered both the first half and the game, but they somehow found a way to lose on a 61 yard field goal as time expired. Our bet wasn’t a cake walk by any stretch of the imagination. The Vikings were driving in the waning seconds of the half, but Cousins was sacked as time expired to give us our second win of the week. The Giants are not good enough to necessarily be in the playoffs, but they are a team that plays hard and could certainly give a good team a scare if they end up making it.
BUF/CHI 1st HALF U21 (WIN)
The game total sailed over, but we hit our first half under in frozen Soldier Field. The teams were hard pressed to score at the start only accumulating 16 through the first 30 minutes. The Bills turned it on for 29 2nd half points, but the Bears offense was ice cold throughout. Even though the Bills dominated, they still seem off to me. I won’t be rushing to back them or the Bears for that matter moving forward.
JAX +8/TEN -2.5 (LOSS)
This was a disappointing loss for us. Betting early in the week can be incredibly advantageous, but it can also leave you susceptible. The news on Tannehill didn’t break before we hit our teaser, otherwise, this is a game I would have stayed away from. JAX came in easy, but Malik Willis looks no better than a college quarterback at the moment. Even with Derrick Henry dominating the Texans like usual, the quarterback and offensive line were absolutely atrocious.
NO +10/KC -2.5 (WIN)
NO +3 (WIN)
NO/CLE U33.5 (WIN)
We swept this game attacking it from a number of angles. The weather was absolutely brutal. Even though we missed the first big move, we got in front of the second. Even the closing number won, but it wasn’t without a sweat. The Browns drove down to the Saints 15 yard line which would have sent us over our total. The NO +3 and +10 in the teaser was never a concern. Deshaun Watson’s return has been incredibly overblown and has created some opportunities to fade Cleveland.
MIA -4.5 (LOSS)
We took a bad number, but even that looked good early. The Dolphins looked back to their midseason form as Tua was tossing it all over the place. The 2nd half was a different story. The Dolphins 2nd half possessions were as follows: Missed FG, Interception, Interception, Interception. Tua single-handedly kept the Packers alive for the playoffs and, in doing so, may have screwed the Dolphins out of theirs.
