NFL Week 4 Betting Sheet Cheat: OL/DL Rankings & Mismatches
Welcome to our weekly NFL Betting Predators OL/DL "Cheat Sheet" where we rank every game by projected team total and top mismatches for a team's run blocking vs. opponent run defense and pass blocking vs. opponent pass rush. We take the average of two of the top industry ranks - PFF Team Grades and ESPN's Win Rate - to specifically look at the mismatches in the trenches, with an eye towards specific opportunties to bet player props on rushing, passing, receiving and sometimes sack and turnover props as well. Use the button at the bottom of this article to view the full Google Spreadsheet, which is updated multiple times per week as spreads/totals/projected team points change, and as injuries are announced.
You can also use our PFF OPP COV column on the right to view a team's specific passing matchup vs. an opponent's secondary, and get the full scope of a mismatch - either offensively or defensively - when it comes to betting weekly player props or making tough decisions in your DFS and season-long fantasy football lineups. The PFF OPP COV column is color-scale graded to show "elite" secondary units in red (for example, a red "3" is means a top 3 secondary/pass coverage defense). This means the opposing offense/passing attack could be in for a tough matchup, barring any unforeseen injury news that week.
The same goes for "poor" secondary units in green (example: a green "29" means a bottom-four secondary/pass coverage defense). This means a possible advantageous matchup for the offense.
Please note: the RUN BLK ADV and PASS RUSH ADV columns labeled in black are the "net difference" when taking a team's average run blocking (or pass blocking) rank and substracting it from their opponent run defense (or pass rush) rank. You can specifically use the RUN BLK mismatches to target overs/unders on running backs for props on rushing yards, long rush and TD props when the stars align for a new wager.
Conversely, you can also use the PFF OPP COV and PASS BLK ADV columns to help target props on team sacks, individual sacks, turnovers, passing yards, completions, and more. There is no one uniform way or rule to using these ranking averages listed below. Simply use them as a guide, as an easier way to view all the important that you need to know, in one place, and as a supplement to the other research you're conducting for your bets. We appreciate you reading, and we hope this brings you some value below.
