Before Tuesday night's action begins, MLB handicapper Dalton Brown is back early with a moneyline bet he loves for Wednesday.
12:35: Miami Marlins at Cincinnati Reds: Reds moneyline (-125) at DraftKings
The Miami Marlins and Cincinnati Reds will finish out a three-game set from Great American Ball Park on Wednesday afternoon, and I'm backing Graham Ashcraft and the Redlegs to pick up a win.
Ashcraft, Cincinnati's second-year righty, has been lights out for more than a month. His 1.84 ERA in July was especially impressive given his opponents, all but one of which have winning records. He kicked off August hot, too, posting eight innings of three-run ball against the Nationals. Quietly, its hard to find many hotter pitchers across the league right now - and Miami ranks just 24th against right-handed pitching since July 1.
Johnny Cueto will start for Miami - and while Cueto hasn't been awful, he hasn't looked nearly as effective as he did in his younger years. He has surrendered four or more runs in three of his five starts in limited action this season, and Cincinnati's offense can be as intimidating as any - especially on a hot day at home.
In all likelihood, I see this line leaking closer to -140 by tomorrow morning - so I'm happy to jump on this bargain price before that happens.
