The Guardians snapped this article's three-game winning streak on Saturday, but MLB handicapper Dalton Brown is back with a best bet for Monday.
8:10 p.m. ET: Seattle Mariners at Chicago White Sox: Mariners F5 -0.5 (-130) at FanDuel
The Seattle Mariners and Chicago White Sox will begin a three-game set from Guaranteed Rate Field on Monday, and I'm backing the M's behind their ace.
Righty Luis Castillo gets the ball for Seattle, a pitcher worthy of trust against this White Sox lineup. Chicago ranks just 29th in baseball with a wRC+ of 80 since the All-Star Break against righties, and Castillo is as tough as they come - even despite some shaky results in August. The righty has produced 58 strikeouts and 9 walks since the beginning of July, so I think he bounces back in this spot.
Chicago will counter with Touki Toussaint, a pitcher who has struggled mightily with command. Toussaint has walked four or more batters in three straight starts, and holds a 6.91 ERA since August 1. Unlike Castillo, Toussaint is presented with a stiff challenge on Monday - the Mariners rank fifth in baseball with a sparkling 121 wRC+ vs. righties since the All-Star Break.
The Mariners are red hot, too - Seattle just completed a sweep in Houston, and enter Chicago winners of six straight. Chicago, meanwhile, is 3-7 over their last 10 games and have little to play for. I think we get Castillo's best here, and that he hands the Mariners bullpen a lead to protect late.
