Some of the best betting values around are season win totals. The negative? Your money is locked up until the end of the season.
Vegas always has the advantage. But sometimes, they misread teams. That is the case with University of Houston football. The Cougars have a win total of 4.5. They won 12 in 2021 and 8 last year, both in a lesser conference. The move to the Big 12 will mean less wins, but this is a better team. They replaced a below average offensive line and will have a new quarterback. But as effective as Clayton Tune was, transfer Dononvan Smith is more talented. Even with the loss of playmakers Tank Dell (WR) and Alton McCaskill (RB) the Cougars are loaded at WR and RB, and McCaskiill missed the season last year.
Head coach Dana Hologersen has Big 12 experience at West Virginia. In seven seasons, he failed to win five games just once. The Cougars have four probable wins - Rice, SHSU, UTSA and West Virginia. They should be able to upset one more and get over the total. This is our favorite play of the season -
Houston Cougars OVER 4.5 wins.
Meanwhile, Oklahoma and Texas are both at 9.5. Dirty little secret: Both teams will not get a single call in their favor as they move to the SEC next year.
I love the under on both, especially Oklahoma.
Finally in the NFL, we like the
49ers under 10.5
. They have lost so many coaches over the last few years, and the West will be better than people think.
Good luck.
