Week 9 Value Stack
T. Tagovailoa ($5,800) / J. Waddle ($5,600) / M. Gaskin ($5,800)
Almost every QB/WR combination does well against the Texans. Tua has been throwing the ball on average of 42 times per game over the last 3 games, and although he didn’t have a great Week 8 against the stout Bills secondary, he still showed some promise that his numbers won’t dip as far as passing volume is concerned. Tua has a number one target as well, and it’s clearly Jaylen Waddle. Week 8 was a challenge for both Tua and Waddle, but Week 9 could be the comeback party. Waddle has had 8 targets or more in 3 straight games, and we are getting both players for a cheap price compared to last week as Waddle is priced the same and Tua is just $300 more despite an obviously upgraded matchup. Gaskin will get some work this week early and late as well, and he catches plenty of passes to make him a good option this week in DraftKings' full PPR scoring format. The Texans defense is terrible in the red zone and we might just get a few one-yard rushing touchdowns from Gaskin or Tua to boot. Miami is looking for a feel good win during a very disappointing season. Look for the Fins' big three to hit the board here.
TE Tournament Punt Of The Week
J. Deguara ($2,500)
The Packers now have an issue at tight end after Robert Tonyan tore his ACL in Week 8 against the Cardinals. Marcedes Lewis will get a good look or two, but we want to buy the actual catching tight end in this offense who will not just block like Lewis will. One of the reason Lewis is still in the league is because he’s one of the best blocking tight ends in football, so while Lewis will get his snaps with Tonyan out, it's Deguara who just might get more targets sent his way from Jordan Love. Deguara caught both of his targets for 20 yards and faces a likely negative game script with the Chiefs ranking near the bottom of the league in DVOA defense against the tight ends. It's a punt play/pivot on what is sure to be the cheapest and chalkiest option on the slate of "Albert O" from the Broncos on Saturday afternoon. If this game is a blowout in the Chiefs' favor we could likely see some garbage time potential and added volume too.
Sneaky WR With Upside
E. Sanders ($5,600)
The Bills took the liberty of getting the ball to Cole Beasley in Week 8 early and often because the Dolphins made things hard on Sanders and Diggs on the outside. Buffalo will be looking for a big performance this week for a few reasons, one being that Sanders didn’t have a single catch in Week 8 on 4 targets. Josh Allen has now moved into the lead for MVP this season and while Beasley got his fill last week, now it’s the Jaguars for Buffalo in Week 9 who have been awful in defending the big play/perimeter receivers on the season. Sanders had 4 good games in a row prior to last week. He’s becoming more important in this Bills offense and he will be targeted heavily in Week 9 in a potential squeaky wheel situation with Allen.
