CFB WEEK 1 OVER/UNDER BETTING BREAKDOWN
Ohio St. is coming off a season where they started 11-0, then fell apart in the 4th quarter vs. Michigan, and got a gift with USC losing in the PAC 12 Championship which ultimately helped Ohio St. make the CFB Playoff. In that semifinal game, they gave the eventual national champs their toughest game of the year, losing in heartbreaking fashion by missing a field goal literally as the clock struck midnight on 2022.
As a buckeye fan, it was one hell of a way to bring in the new year. In the offseason they lost Heisman Trophy finalist CJ Stroud to the pros, but they return a lot on offense.
Future top five pick and wide receiver, Marvin Harrison Jr returns. As does possible first round picks, wide receiver Emeka Egbuka and running back TreVeyon Henderson. In at QB now is former 5-star recruit, Kyle McCord, who was high school teammates with Harrison back at St. Joseph Prep in Philly.
OHIO STATE VS. INDIANA - OVER OR UNDER?
In my honest opinion, if the offense line is solid (which I think they will be) this offense has the feel of the 2020 Alabama team to me. A team which had Mac Jones (Kyle McCord) take over for Tua (Stroud) and was inserted into an offense that had first round pick talent in Jaylen Waddle (MHJ, Devonta Smith (Egbuka), and Najee Harris (Henderson).
Indiana, on the other hand, is coming off a disappointing 4-8 season where they started off the season 3-0, but only won one game the rest of the way. They only bring back eight starters overall and only three from a defense that ranked last in the Big Ten in points and yards given up per game.
Tom Allen, in his seventh year, definitely has his work cut out for him this year, playing in the brutal Big Ten East. In the end, this game should go the way many think it will. As stated above Ohio St.'s offense should pick up right where they left off last year. In four season opener games vs. non ranked opponents, Ryan Day's teams have averaged 54.75 points.
Also in their last five games versus Indiana, Ohio St. has averaged 50.4 points per game. I do not see anything changing this Saturday.
THE BET: OHIO ST. TEAM TOTAL OVER
Ohio State Team Total OVER 44.5 (-120)
